What can I expect during my first session?

 

​      During our first few sessions, I'll ask about your current concerns and together, we will explore contributing factors.  We will determine goals for therapy.  We will also discuss how and what you'd like your future to look and feel like.  This will provide a roadmap for where we are going.   I also always ask about strengths, supports & explore what is working in your life.  Therapy with em is collaborative & active.  Together, we will work together as a team to implement coping strategies, improve your overall well being and meet your goals.

 
Session Fees?

 

        An individual session is $170.  Payment is expected at time of service.  

 

Do you take insurance?

 

       Currently, I am on two insurance panels.  For those two insurances, I will help you verify your benefits and submit billing on your behalf. 

 

For all other insurances, I am an out-of-network provider, which means you are responsible for our session fee at the time of our appointment.  I  can provide you with a superbill (a detailed receipt) which will include fees that you paid and your diagnosis.  If you submit the superbill to your insurance, they may reimburse you a percentage of our session directly.  

Psychotherapy sessions are often covered in part by PPO health insurance plans.

 

Please call your insurance company to verify your specific coverage. The following are some questions to consider:

  • Do I have mental/behavioral health insurance benefits?

  • What is my deductible and has it been met?

  • What is my copay for in-person and video session?

  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?

  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session for an out-of-network provider?

 

The decision to use your insurance or not rests on you. However, there are some important points that you need to know if you decide to use your insurance.  Insurance companies require mental health therapists to provide a diagnosis in order for sessions to be covered by insurance. This diagnosis will become part of your medical record. Insurance companies require your therapist to maintain detailed notes of every session including your clinical assessment, treatment goals, and progress in therapy. Your insurance company can request and obtain your records including notes in order to audit them. 

If you choose not to use your insurance and opt for a private pay option, your mental health therapist will maintain minimal clinical notes that do not need to contain diagnosis that can only be released under a court order.

 

Do you offer sliding scale appointments?

 

    Yes, if you would like to work together & need accomodations on the session fee, please reach out to discuss.

 

Office Location & Logistics

 

     My office is located in the neighborhood of Mar Vista.  The address is 12240 Venice Blvd, Los Angeles, CA., 90066.  There is meter street parking in front of the building.  There is also free parking in nearby neighborhoods.  

 

Do you offer Teletherapy Sessions?

 

    Yes! Right now, I am only offering telehealth sessions (video or phone).  I have a HIPAA compliant secure platform I use.


 

What is your late cancellation policy?


        If you need to cancel, kindly give 24-hour notice. If you do not give 24-hour notice, you may be responsible for your full fee.  Please call or text, 310-554-8670, to cancel.
