How will I know if you are the right therapist for me?
This is the most important factor in therapy hands down, and research supports it. I have training in several evidence based treatment modalities, including CBT, ACT, DBT, art therapy and mindfulness, but when all is said and done, therapeutic relationship carries the most weight.
Here are some things to consider:
Can I be honest with this person?
Do I feel safe opening up about personal issues?
Do I feel like this therapist gets me and understands where I'm coming from?
And the most important
Do I like this person?
You deserve a therapist that you like and trust.
What can I expect during my first session?
Maybe you are wondering what a therapy session will actually be like? During our first few sessions, we will get to know each other. I'm easy to talk to. I’ll ask you questions about your past & how you are feeling now. What is making you choose therapy at this time? What changes are needed? We’ll look at your strengths & set goals together. Therapy is a collaborative process. I want you to feel empowered and capable of making positive changes. My role is to listen, provide support & ask the questions that will help you gain a better understanding of yourself and those around you.
How long will counseling or therapy take?
It depends on your goals. I want you to feel empowered and be satisfied that you can stand on your own and handle life situations in a confident, healthy way; which is something that we will evaluate throughout the therapy process. I won't leave you hanging, but I want us to be actively working on your goals. Therapy doesn't have to last forever.
My sessions cost $130 per a 50 minute session. Payment, in form of cash, check or credit card, is expected at time of service.
Do you take insurance?
Currently, I do not take insurance. If you have a PPO insurance plan, I can provide you with an invoice (called a Superbill) that you can submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement. Session fees may be partially reimbursed or used towards meeting a deductible, depending on your insurance coverage. It is best to contact your insurance provider prior to starting therapy to verify what may or may not be covered by your plan.
QUESTIONS TO ASK YOUR INSURANCE PROVIDER:
1. Do I have Out of Network behavioral health benefits?
2. Do I have a deductible, how much is it and has it been met?
3. What is my Out of Network reimbursement rate per session?
4. How many sessions are covered per calendar year?
Do you offer sliding scale appointments?
I do offer a few sliding scale openings in my practice. Please contact me discuss; I do not want finances to prevent anyone from receiving quality mental health care treatment.
Office Location & Logistics
My office is located in the neighborhood of Playa Vista at 12777 West Jefferson Blvd, Los Angeles, CA., 90066. There is free street parking next to the building, one block away on McConnell Ave. Some clients choose to park at the Whole Foods across the street. There is also a pay lot directly in front of the building.
Do you offer Teletherapy Sessions?
Yes! Teletherapy sessions are possible. Teletherapy is providing therapy through a live video connection, over the internet. I provide the same treatment as I do in person, it's just done through a computer. It’s great for clients who travel often or have difficulty making it into my office for one reason or another. If you've ever used Skype on your computer or FaceTime on your iPhone, you've used the same type of technology teletherapy uses. For my sessions, I use a free software called VSee. It is HIPPA compliant. The session fee is the same as in person therapy.
What is your late cancellation policy?
Each appointment is reserved for you. If you need to cancel, I require at least 24-hour notice from your scheduled session time. This allows the opportunity for someone else, who is in need, to benefit from the availability. If you do not give 24-hour notice, you are responsible for your full fee. Please call or text, 310-554-8670, to cancel. I appreciate your understanding.
